I must not actually be an apple fan boy (iPad thoughts)
I was on vacation last week when the iPad got announced. I knew the day was coming and I found that I just didnt have the pull to put down my Bahama Mamma poolside and try to find out what the new life altering amazing device was. So it wasnt until this week that I had some time look at what Apple had actually announced.
With all the new multitouch stuff coming out in AIR 2.0 and in Flash Player 10.1, I am in the market to buy a tablet. And I’ll be honest, I was holding off doing so until I found out what Apple’s tablet would do. Because all of my computers are Apple and so are most of my gadgets. I think they build good stuff and I am very happy with all of it.
But I wont be buying and iPad. At least not as a tablet. I am extremely disappointed in Apples decision to base this off the iPhone OS. I have no, less than zero, interest in having a giant iTouch laying around the house. I really wanted a tablet computer based on OS X. But what I really wanted was an OS X that correctly implements the Multi-touch events so that I can use multitouch monitors with my existing equipment.
I have been considering getting a nook/kindle reader. And in that line of things the iPad might still find its way into my home. But since the battery life on the iPad is 10 hours instead of the 10 days on the kindle, that may not happen either.
So while I still dream of an actual mac computer tablet, I may just have to settle for windows 7 for a while or make my own.

Hi, I think you might be interesting check this device and see if i works for you:

@Misha,
Thanks for your comment. But the joojoo is also perfectly not what I am looking for. I dont want a bigger iTouch, I dont want a quick to surf and check email thing.
I wanted an actual useful tablet computer with osX on it. I wanted a real computer built in tablet form from the people who build amazing hardware.
@Misha,
On the other hand…. the JooJoo does intend to support flash, so it is much more likely for me to invest in than the iPad :)
Get a Modbook. Its an after market macbook converted to use a wacom pen. Doesn’t currently support touch. but a stylus mac is good enough for me.

I’m always searching for things on information that I do not know of. It’s not an easy task to find things that you don’t know about, because what do you search for? ;) Your blog is the type of thing I love to read about on something new to me. Awsome read! Thank you.
