360Flex is Just Around the Corner
I am getting so excited for the 360Flex conference. I am in count down mode like its Christmas! I am a big conference fan, I dont think there is any better way to jam a bunch of information into your head than by going to conferences. But the real value for me is in making new friends. I have been a CF developer for a long time, and I have lots of CF friends.
I have been doing flex for a couple years, but most of my flex friends are CF crossovers. So I am really looking forward to getting out and making some new friends. I cant discount the value of old friendships either though.
So drop me a line if you are heading out to the conference. If you comment here I can ping you off line and we can look into hooking up at the conf. So lets hear it? Who is going?

I’m going. I’m very excited about it. Even more excited than about Wonder-con, which is this weekend.
It’s funny, I haven’t heard much about CF in a long time, but it seems like there are a ton of Flex people who do CF. Is it making a comeback? What are the advantages of CF over other server technologies?
I’m coming all the way from London! Its going to be great
I tried to convince Niklas from the UK ColdFusion User Group to come along too, but he snoozed too long and missed out on tickets.
I will be there (with MBP)!
There are FOUR of us going from Bend (we shoulda carpooled).
Will be great to see you there. I’m coming along to try to figure out what this whole Flex thing is about! I’ve got a copy of the Total Training video for the flight over so hopefully I’ll be able to take advance of the beginner track . . .
Hey Sim, old CF friend here. I’ll see you in San Jose next week…

So I havnt posted on my blog in a while and I just realized that I am not getting email notifications any more. So I just came in this morning and was suprised to see comments
I am really looking foward to hooking up with everybody at the conference. And I am glad I posted because I didnt realize Rob and Peter were coming.
Where are you guys staying? I just booked a room at the holiday inn yesterday.
Testing the email again.

Hi Sim,
We (myself, Adam Crump, Jim Bambrough, Steve Rittler, and Matt Cass) are staying at the Sainte Claire Hotel in downtown San Jose.
We’re all arriving between 6 and 9pm Sunday night.

Comment emails now working fine!
I’ll be at the Vagabond Inn San Jose Airport and arriving Sunday afternoon. Sean C is also going to be at the seminar.
Rob you guys are like a pack. I always that group together at cfun. I guess that just shows where the real friendships are. Thats pretty cool.
I get in about 8 on Sunday. I just spent last week in downtown and decided it was not all it was cracked up to be. I figure close to conf is better since downtown is only a 10 cab ride away.
Peter, I just have this sound of you with your accent saying "Vagabond" and its perfect. Ill have to ping y’all when I get in and see if anything is going on.
*grin*
It seems like we pick up more and more friends each year. Some are more casual friendships than others, but I’ve never been part of a more cohesive community than the one I’ve become part of through CF.
As for downtown, I’m out in Santa Clara/San Jose quite a bit. Our CA office is just down the road in Santa Clara. Downtown has some fun spots, but it’s definitely not a huge hot spot. I’m sure we’ll all find some good places to meet up and hang out!
Sim, we are staying at the Staybridge not far from the conference center. (Not sure where Tom & co are booked though.) We are getting in at about 5pm but have plans in San Francisco that night so we’ll catch up with everyone some time Monday morning!
We do have a car… so can meet up pretty much anywhere afterwards I guess!
