Portland Airport has free Wi-Fi

While I was sitting here waiting for my plane this morning, I was
very excited to see that the pdx airport has free internet
access.  I think this is an amazing contribution.  I think
this really shows that the port of portland understands that the
"silicon forest" that is our home, embraces new technologies.

I dont travel alot, but in the last year I was excited to see that i
could get wi-fi at all in the airport.  But in some of the places
it was as much as $25 for the day.  Its a little high for
somewhere I am going to spend as little as a couple hours in.

Anyway, rest assured if your travels bring you through portland, you
will be well recieved!  Internet, email and IM await you when you
land :)

MACROMEDIA JOINS ECLIPSE FOUNDATION

In a bit of wonderful news, Macromedia has joined the eclipse
foundation.  As an active proponent of the CFEclipse project, I
can’t see how this is anything but wonderful.

The tool they are building (code named Zorn ) will be built to target Professional Flash Developers utilizing the flex platform.

Zorn will provide professional developers with a robust tool set for developing RIAs using the Macromedia Flex
framework. The Flex server combines the standards-based Flex
development framework with a powerful set of runtime services to
deliver enterprise-class rich Internet applications. Currently there
are more than 300 enterprise customers for Flex, including Dorado
Corporation, HBOS plc, NEC, and SAP

As a mac and linux user, i can not wait to see what comes from
this great news.  I am very excited to have one tool (eclipse) for
all my java, cf, flash/flex development.
